Igor Holka passes all the beauties and the secrets of African music to his pupils at the regular classes in the Private artistic school TRALAŠKOLA in Nitra, where he works as a teacher of drum set play, percussion play and leads a drum orchestra.
Traditional West African rhythms classes, djembe playing classes (also known as the bongo – which is the incorrect terminology) and African drums classes are designed for all the beginners or for advanced players on different levels. Own instruments are not required, African drums or other instruments can be borrowed straight at the classes, which also can be purchased.( Ponuka djembe a afrických nástrojov)

In the Brazilian drum orchestra there are people of all ages. The only condition is to be interested in rhythms of this “land of carnival”. The same it is in the samba classes which are lectured by Igor Holka. They have been held regularly since the year 2010. Also the band CAMPANA BATUCADA (see CAMPANA BATUCADA) started up from participants of these classes. It is an unusual formation which is using professional instruments. Thanks to these classes the number of members is still increasing. What does it mean? It means that you can become a member of this amazing bomb full of rhythm and energy, too!

Since the year 2004 Igor Holka has lectured the djembe play at the one week workshops which are organised by MASADA BRNO. The classes are combined with African dance workshop, which have been lectured by Tereza Pospěchova (CZ) in the past few years. The djembe play is also lectured by Broňa Pavlíček – the leader and a solo player of a band from Brno called TUBABU, (CZ) who has lectured the classes since its birth. These perfect musicians and teachers could also be seen at workshops organized by Tralaškola in Nitra.
This workshop lasts for one week. It is full of positive mood, African rhythms and dance and lovely people. At its end there is a performance of all participants, who are also adoptive parents of Finda Dialo, a girl from Guinea.
The concern over these classes grows year after year. You can get more information at the organizers.
